“We are incredibly grateful to Karlowsky Fashion for their support. Our 420 nursing staff in the four social centres, two day care facilities, six senior citizens’ residential centres and senior citizens’ residential homes are currently working under difficult conditions and see the social commitment of Karlowsky Fashion GmbH, both as motivation and as an expression of gratitude, to continue to be there for people with the same passion as they have been until now. I am particularly pleased that the nursing staff can now do this in new work clothes,” explains Frank Ruth, Managing Director of the DRK Regional Association Magdeburg-Jerichower Land e. V.

Eight Europallets were needed to pack the 7,000 gowns in all sizes safely for transport. The first tunics were handed over to the local nursing staff on Monday, May 4, 2020, at 10:00 a.m., at the DRK senior citizens’ residential home in Magdeburg. In addition to the representatives of Karlowsky Fashion GmbH, Thomas Karlowsky and his son Niels Karlowsky, the IHK-Magdeburg General Manager Wolfgang März, the DRK Managing Director Frank Ruth, as well as the head of the nursing home Mr. Wagner and some of his nursing staff were present to present the tunics.

150,000 Euro donation

The total value of the donation was 150,000 Euros, as stated by Karlowsky Fashion GmbH. “A sum that is not a matter of course and certainly not an everyday occurrence,” said Frank Ruth, who had brought a corresponding donation receipt with him on the date.
