Schneider & Wohlenberg has developed a special adhesive film on a silicone paper for the permanent fixing of patches and emblems on textiles.

The material offers a strong adherence up to the cutting edges of the emblems and provides a permanent lamination. The adhesive is constructed in such a way that emblems could even be fixed on textiles with rough surfaces – and still be washable up to 60°C.

“We have been exposing this material to a very special durability test,” explains Managing Director Wilfried Russ. Russ has been using material from the first production lot for a patch on the knee of a pair of jeans from his four-year-old grandchild. “After several weeks of hard field-testing in the kindergarten and several washings, the patch was broken – but the adhesive was still sticking strongly.”

Another special feature is the ‘anti-skid’ treatment of the adhesive film, which facilitates the precise handling and fixing of patches.
