During three special focus days from Wednesday 4 November to Friday 6 November, a framework programme for Viscom 2015 will cover all aspects of the major themes in digital communication, POS packaging, POS display and advertising technology. The lecture program will be complemented by workshops and various Lunch & Learn opportunities.

Digital communication

The first day will be chiefly dedicated to digital signage providers and consumers, advertising technicians, content producers, creative designers, concept designers and branded companies, marketing managers and media/agency professionals. The introduction to the day will answer some key questions, such as: are moving-image communications just for big brands? What is a sensible use of digital signage? And how can we effectively combine analogue media with digital?

Three further sessions will then deal with all other topical questions. The session “What’s up digital signage industry?” will look at the application areas for digital signage. Session two will focus on the topic “Content and concept: a love of obstacles” to discover how effective content can be created within the context of the respective screen. What does the digital future hold in store? This will be explained by experts in Session three: “From large screens and small screens to no screens at all. How digital is the future?”

POS Packaging and POS display

Insights, tips and tricks from real-world practice relating to POS as well as the highlights of the display and packaging industry will be presented on day two by experts.  How can visual communications create added value for products, customers and providers? The Point of Sale offers many challenges and opportunities. What influences do, for example, packaging, displays or the shop environment exert on the purchasing decisions of customers?

The sessions will also deal specifically with the POS from a customer perspective, the difference between desire and reality in display design and the trends and highlights from the packaging industry. The session “Viscom unboxed – handmade and packaged with love” will deal with tactile and creative solutions for manufacturing packaging.

Advertising technology in transition

Also in advertising technology, the new technical possibilities created by the transition to digital are opening up new business areas. In three sessions on day three of viscom, experts will cover topics such as “Storytelling for spaces. How digital pressure changes interior design”, “Sensuality that makes sense” and “New processes for new business worlds”. The focus here will be on an individual object design for industrial, commercial and residential spaces, multisensory product and corporate communication, and the emerging desire for haptics.

Workshops: Corel and Adobe

Visitors to viscom traditionally have a great interest in the workshops on Corel and Adobe software, which are also offered again in 2015. On Wednesday, viscom will be dedicated to the Corel workshops. The new features in CorelDRAW Graphic Suite X7, image-to-vector conversion and the application of special effects in CorelDRAW and CorelPHOTO-PAINT will be under discussion.

Several times a day during all three fair days, Hedwig Pielsticker (pullPIX Bildagentur) will run a workshop on “Wall-filling images – requirements for printing large photos and pixel data”. Thursday’s topics will include “Industrial textile printing and new business models” and a printhouse talk by VDM NW Druck und Medien Nord-West e.V. on “Strategic printing! What’s going, what’s coming, what remains”. On Friday, viscom will focus on various Adobe workshops. Topics will include “Adobe Creative Cloud 2015”, “Adobe Illustrator CC 2015”, “Adobe InDesign CC 2015” and “Adobe Photoshop CC 2015”, and will be moderated by Adobe Systems Product Specialist Stefan Lamb.
