Texo Trade Services (TTS), manufacturer and distributor of digitally printable textiles and transfer print media, is proud to announce the introduction of the Tornado, a custom-built 330 cm wide paper wrapper. This investment underlines the company’s commitment to remain cost-efficient and flexible in the field of sublimation transfer and calender protective paper.

A decade of progress

TTS has been wrapping paper for more than a decade, initially through external partners. With the opening of the production hall in Moordrecht three years ago, the company was able to take most of the wrapping in-house, which meant a significant advance in efficiency. The new Tornado machine, designed according to TTS’ specific requirements, enables the company to further increase winding capacity and operate even more efficiently.

Unique specifications

The Tornado is an advanced paper wrapper with a width of 330 cm unique in the world. This almost fully automated machine can wrap “jumbo rolls” to “plotter rolls”. Floris-Jan van den Heuvel, director of TTS, explains: “Paper mills prefer to supply jumbo rolls of 1,000 to 2,500 kg per roll. Winding to smaller rolls is not their core business. Our customers use printers and calendering machines suitable for rolls of 20 kg to a maximum of 300 kg. Often, our customers’ internal logistics are also a limitation, as the reels have to be manually loaded into the printer. With our own wrapping production, we act as an extension of our paper mills. “The Tornado is suitable for both sublimation and protective paper and can wrap paper from 20 to 150 grams. Thanks to the high level of automation, significant efficiencies will be realised, with an expected 30-40% increase in production capacity.

Quality and energy efficiency

With the new machine, the company can respond even faster to customer requests and further improve the quality of wrapped rolls. Moreover, the new machine is more energy-efficient, with 70% lower energy consumption compared to the previous machine. This contributes to TTS’s sustainability goals and helps keep costs down for customers.

Flexibility and service

The Tornado enables TTS to produce customised rolls tailored to customers’ specific requirements. This offers a flexibility that paper manufacturers often cannot offer.

A step forward

The investment in the Tornado machine confirms the company’s commitment to continuous improvement and expansion of its capacity. Floris-Jan van den Heuvel, managing director of TTS, stresses, “This new machine enables us to meet our customers’ needs even better with improved efficiency and quality. We are proud of this step forward and look forward to the benefits it will bring to our customers.”
