DTG printer without pretreatment

Direct Color Systems introduces a DTG (Direct-to-Garment) printer for light coloured textiles without the need for pretreatment.

One printer for DTG and DTS with new application

The ability to print Direct-to-Garment and Direct-to-Substrate with the same printer is an innovation from Direct Color Systems. The versatile Direct Jet UVMVP Series and 7200z printers (F4 Editions) can now be used to create durable and resistant prints, with high strength and durability, when printing to white and light coloured t-shirts utilizing the Multisolve IRF4 UV inks. You can still print on rigid substrates, too. IRF4 inks may perform better on certain rigid materials or objects when compared to other inks. Materials should be tested to ensure they meet the specified requirements of your application.DCS 1024UVMVP6 F4 with Logo (2)

No pretreatment necessary

The president of the company, Blair Allen, says, “The DTG market has long struggled with printing to polyester and synthetic blend garments with and without pretreatments. We are very excited about this new application and what it provides to the market as a whole. The ability to quickly and easily print to light coloured cotton, polyester, and various synthetic blends, without the need for a pretreatment, combined with the ability for the printed image to stretch with any fabric, can radically increase product offerings and profits for those in the DTG market.”

DTG materials not limited

  • Easily print directly to cotton, cotton blends, synthetic blends, and 100% polyester shirts without the need for pretreatment.
  • UV inks are cured instantly while printing. As a redundant measure, Direct Color Systems recommends heat pressing finished shirts for 1 minute at 300 °F / 149 °C to ensure all UV monomersare cured. IRF4 UV inks are unique in that they are flexible enough to use for DTG/T-Shirt printing and cure with both a UV light and/or heat. This new application can print a 9″ x 9″ // 22.8cm x 22.8cm full colour logo print in 1 minute & 10 seconds.

Direct Color Systems will be demonstrating the process at upcoming NBM shows and the 2016 SGIA Expo in September.
