Experts from the fields of finishing and textiles will meet at the Transfer printing Convention on 4 May 2022 in Düsseldorf, Germany. For one day the focus will be on flock and flex as well as the processing of the most diverse transfer materials on the versatile textiles of the market. The host, Promodoro Fashion, will present textiles made of cotton, polyester, softshell and other materials for printing.
Roland DG Deutschland GmbH, as a new partner of the Academy for Textile Finishing, is sponsoring the event and will provide know-how as well as various cutting plotters and printing systems. Other partners are IVB TransferDruck and Stahls’ Europe.
Individually decorated textiles are indispensable in any area of textile finishing. Transfer printing with flock and flex, printable foils or with screen printing, digital printing and offset transfers plays a decisive role here. Whether fashion, sportswear, leisurewear, workwear or promotional textiles, there is a suitable material for every application.
At first glance, transfer printing appears to be a simple process. Press, transfers and T-shirts, and off you go. But every transfer printer has already experienced his personal inferno when the customer complains about the quality, the washability is not given or the transfer simply does not adhere to the textile.
Practical knowledge
The one-day “Transfer Printing Convention” provides in various workshops pure practice and invites you to lend a hand yourself. The speakers Elke Bobek and Melanie Schuster (Promodoro Fashion), Anna Becker (STAHLS`Europe), Simon Krolikowski (Roland DG Germany) and Rico Weigand (IVB TransferDruck) will provide you with practical knowledge about transfer printing, materials and their properties and applications on different textiles.
DIY is the order of the day with T-shirts, transfers as well as plotters and presses. You will learn what transfers can do, which techniques and products are suitable for which applications and what the limits of transfer printing are. You will also learn how much heat a T-shirt can withstand, how decisive the parameters “pressure”, “temperature” and “time” are for good results and what needs to be taken into account for transfers on functional textiles. In addition, aids, tips and tricks for processing will be presented. For the practical workshops, the participants will be divided into groups.
