Textil-RIP for all AnaJet models

3 December 2010 - Marijke Kuypers

In our August newsletter we told you about the digital printing partners and the dealer network, whose participating members from AnaJet Inc. are authorised to distribute their products in Germany. The dealers are taking the road to the success of textile printing and are determining, to a large extent, its direction on their own, through new developments.

The software has an important impact on the expected reproduction of the colours of a file. Farben-Frikell from Brunswick, Germany, the leading AnaJet dealer from northern Germany has recognised this and has been working on a complement for the range for machines, with the option of printing white ink. In close cooperation with a leading developer of design and production software, they have created a new textile RIP, Textil-RIP, which is the perfect complement for any AnaJet model. As well as many RIP-typical applications, such as a print preview or a cost calculator, the plug-in contains some adaptations that are specially developed for AnaJet.

However, the accurately prepared colour information resulting from image processing and RIP are just half the requirement for a good print result. The printing technology itself is crucial as well and is subject to different requirements for the pre-treatment of the fabrics.Whenever white ink is used, the textile needs to be pre-treated. This prevents the ink ‘carrier layer’ from being re-absorbed by the textile. This layer is necessary to give the printed colours their brilliance on dark textiles. The quality of the pre-treatment limits all the subsequent processing steps. Due to this significant impact on the print result, the dealer network offers not only the pre-treatment box but also a semi-automatic pre-treatment device.

Metallic foils

A much-noticed complement to the normal ink application on all sorts of natural fibres (such as cotton, hemp or 2010.12.01.anajet_foil_small linen) is the use of metallic foils. They allow finishing of existing motifs partially or on the entire surface with shiny or matt effects. This process was shown by Farben-Frikell at the Viscom show.

This process opens possibilities that go far beyond the normal printing of colour motifs on light or dark textiles. Besides inexpensive, standard colour applications, it is also possible to produce high-end single items and small series for demanding customers from the fashion industry. In addition, prints with different inks are possible on both the above-mentioned standard fabrics as well as on synthetic fibres.

When all the components are well balanced, Hardware + Software + Know-how = Key to Success is indeed the winning formula for every AnaJet user, according to AnajJet.
