This year Result Clothing celebrates 25 years in business. Founded in 1995 to provide the decoration, promotions and uniform industry with good quality outerwear, headwear and accessories from stock, the family-run firm now has a loyal following amongst textile decorators, and continues to innovate and refresh its range to attract new trade users, uniform buyers and retail outlets.

Result began when Managing Director David Sanders-Smith used his then 20-year reputation and experience in garment manufacturing to create and lead a small team to design, produce, stock and distribute ten products harvested from his archive of bespoke patterns. The company then commenced trading with three distributors.

Over 25 years Result has gone from strength to strength. Today the company, now treble in size, has expanded its range to over 7000 SKU across 4 brands and 350 unique products. It holds stock in the UK ready for immediate despatch using a superior logistics network through to all major European distributors.

Boasting a comprehensive selection of dynamic outerwear from micro-weight to heavyweight performance, urban to corporate, core value to technical, in sizes spanning junior age 2 to adult 5XL, Result has a reputation for producing high quality, high value product within the industry and the company’s experience has grown alongside its expertise.

“Key to RESULT’s continuing success has been the company’s ability to anticipate changes within the industry, keep up with promotional trends and to listen to its customers and predict their wants and needs”, says David Sanders-Smith, “that and delivering pioneering performance clothing at outstanding value”, he adds.

“By developing new products every season and offering our ever-growing customer base new and updated styles in a wealth of colours and sizes, we have continued to stay relevant in a competitive environment,” David continues.

He further explains, “when developing new styles, the use of performance fabrics is always key and decoration access of great importance. Our personable customer service, electronic ordering, massive stock capability, superior logistics network and future trend predictions are renowned.”

As part of its evolution the company introduced a collection of sub brands, which respond to customer requests and market trends.

Result headwear incorporates a balanced mix of vibrant colours and sizes, innovative textures and eye-catching styles making a high- quality addition to any corporate, work wear, promotions or leisure activity. Focusing on easy decoration, the head wear styles use a variety of textiles to blend traditional, quality manufacture with contemporary design.

Spiro

2010 saw the launch of Spiro, the activewear addition to the company. Following direct requests for a fully colour co-ordinated sports and team wear range, Spiro Activewear fills the gap in the sports industry for a stock range of co-ordinated team wear.

Blending the latest performance fabrics and cutting-edge technology with designs that meet the rigorous requirements of the active wearer, Spiro supplies the fitness, corporate sport and promotional markets with quality fashionable activewear garments.

Innovative product storyboards showcase how brand styles jigsaw together to form a colour co-ordinated unisex sports team or individual look with special focus on the superior quality of its renown Cool-Dry fabrics. The range offers activewear for all occasions with collections including Bikewear, fitness, impact, teamwear and compression, which fulfil the requirements of the modern-day sportsperson whilst keeping in-line with current fashion trends. The Spiro collection is held in stock all year round making it quick and simple for clubs to replenish a uniform look each season.

In 2012 Result devised the Core value collection to supply low cost neutral branded promotional wear in support of its worldwide distributor network. Within twelve months it was adopted as “everyone’s favourite budget friendly range”. The company continues to expand this simple collection offering genuine value for money in durable styles and a varied colour palette.

Work-Guard

In 2014 Work-Guard and Safe-Guard were launched, which focus on function and performance for the professional tradesperson. Having seen the rising trend for dedicated workwear that not only delivers on performance but also on style, Result created a comprehensive range of products that provide dependable properties using performance fabrics for comfort and rugged durability with built-in features. Work-Guard products are available in spectrum colours that enhance the image of any professional workforce and are ready-to-brand, making them ideal for corporate wear.

The increased demand for workwear has allowed the Work-Guard and Safe-Guard ranges to go from strength to strength, with new lines continuingly being added such as the introduction of safety footwear and Work-Guard Lite, which combines durable workwear performance with lighter fabrics for warmer weather wear.

The company also recognised the rising trend for ‘tagless’ clothing and the importance fo

r its customers to have neutrally branded corporate and promotion wear. To feed the growing number of pop-up brands, events or promotions requiring personalised clothing, Result evolved its labelling to supply off the shelf, ready to brand clothing and products feature either tear-away, cut-away or brand-free labelling. The range needs minimal handling so customers can insert or apply their own label or decoration, maximising promotion of their own company or brand.

New warehouse

After 20 years of consistent growth, in 2015 the company moved its warehousing facilities to a new larger distribution centre in Beccles, Suffolk to give the company 228,000 sq. ft. of space from which to operate its expanding business. All stock is now held at the 14.5acre expansion-ready site, which can easily accommodate further business growth.

In addition to providing much more space, investment in new systems and machinery provided Result with economies in man power and after only a short period of time the company was reaping the benefits of the new centre, including quick order turnaround, unlimited storage and distribution space and energy saving benefits from fitted solar panels and motion sensor lighting.

As well as creating high quality garments, Result is known for its brand marketing and product information, which is recognised as the industry standard. By keeping its photography fresh, its brochures continually updated with industry relevant information and producing creative promotional campaigns, RESULT continues to keep the industry updated with its latest developments.

Mini movies

More recently Result created a range of ‘mini movies’ to promote key new or seasonal products. A great marketing tool, the minute-long films point out key features of the items to help customers better understand the products; giving them an immersive, 360 experience of the garment. The videos, which can be found on Result’s website have had some great feedback from their distributors who have shared them with their own customers.

The company is proud of its heritage and understanding of the garment decoration industry and continues to develop new products every season, offering its ever-growing customer base new and updated styles to ensure it remains the decorator’s brand of choice.

For 2020 the company will continue to incorporate innovative, clean and recycled elements into its garments and packaging, and looks forward to sharing more details about this with the industry during the year.
