PolyOne Wilflex Inks announced that it has added a new high solids, aqueous ink series to its Wilflex Oasis non-phthalate, non-PVC screen printing ink portfolio.

PolyOne continues to expand its Oasis product line as brands and big box retailers focus on non-PVC alternatives. As many print shops do not have adequate dryer equipment to cure water-based products, Wilflex Oasis Intense series is designed to cure at lower processing temperatures to provide increased print volume throughput with reduced energy consumption using any existing dryer equipment.

Wilflex Oasis Intense offers a complete line using technology that includes a mixing base, opaque white, and pre-mixed black ink for superior print performance and press versatility on both automatic and manual equipment. Non-phthalate and non-PVC Intense inks are compliant with CPSIA 2008, Sections 101, 108, and 1303 and meet the functional and compliance requirements demanded by printers and brands working in this market space.

Advantages

“Existing plastisol users choosing to move to non-PVC chemistry will find Oasis Intense an easy transition to water-based printing due to its ability to rewet in the screen, extend open screen time, and fully cure inks for maximum graphic durability,” said Peter Juhl, senior industry manager, Specialty Inks and Polymer Systems, PolyOne Corporation. “Oasis Intense Black outperformed competitive offerings in jet black color saturation and wash-fastness and is clearly the front runner to fighting fibrillation.”

Oasis Intense provides the printer with a smooth, matte surface finish for overprint colors and virtually no after-flash tack. Oasis Intense White is optically bright and offers improved visual intensity.  Color mixing capabilities include a mixing white in addition to the Wilflex Oasis Pigment Concentrate color palette, providing the option to match any custom or brand color, and is available in IMS3.0 Mixing Software.
