At the Gunold stand visitors could see many innovations and the comprehensive product range for embroidery and embellishment.

The following innovations were on show.

Naturally natural: thread with a matt sheen

The cotton thread Cotty 30 made from 100% long-staple, high-quality mercerized Egyptian cotton is now available in 20 new solid colors. With a total of 160 colors, the color chart now offers a comprehensive color selection that leaves nothing to be desired. Ten of the new colors are also available in COTTY BIO quality. The new colors and the colors in organic quality are marked in the new color chart. The cotton used for COTTY BIO is grown, twisted and dyed using GOTS certification. Downstream process steps (winding of the final finishes and application of a lubricant) comply with the limits required by GOTS (V6.0) for “Ingredients and Accessories”. COTTY 12 is still available in the Sulky Shop for consumers and COTTY is also available undyed. Ideal for customers who want to dye the entire textile after embroidering.

Cone socks

Gunold now offers new, very soft and flexible cone socks for both its 5,000 m yarn cones and the 1,000 m mini king cones. The socks are narrower for the mini cones and wider for the large cones. The socks are tight enough to hold the thread securely on the cone during embroidery and prevent the thread from slipping off the cone.

The sock steadies the thread as it runs down to the needle, no tangling of the thread with neighboring threads on the cone plate during embroidery. The use of cone socks are recommended especially when embroidering metallic threads (Mety, Glitter), effect threads such as reflective or luminescent threads (CRY, Glowy). The socks are offered in boxes of 50 per type and can be used for years.

More sustainability for stabilisers as well

At the show, there were new, sustainable variants in the  comprehensive embroidery backing range. The declared aim is to focus even more on ecological nonwovens made from natural fibers and recycled fibers in the future.
