The EXPO 4.0 trade fair alliance, consisting of the three trade fairs TecStyle Visions, wetec and GiveADays, will not be able to take place as planned from 31 March to 2 April 2022. In view of the continuing increase in the number of infections and the ensuing uncertainties, the state of Baden-Württemberg has tightened the Alert level I and explicitly ruled out trade fairs for February. Messe Stuttgart carried out a survey among the companies exhibiting at the trade fairs in order to decide the best approach. More than three quarters of all participants voted in favour of a new date from 30 March to 1 April 2023.

"We generally maintain a close and open exchange with the companies that exhibit at our trade fairs and help shape the programme. In recent weeks, this exchange has been even more intense. Based on the result of the survey among our exhibitors last week, we decided together to set a new event date in March 2023. This will result in a change of the two-year trade fair cycle to the odd years," explains Sebastian Schmid, Member of the Messe Stuttgart Board of Management.

Complete offer

In a written enquiry, the majority of the companies surveyed had voted in favour of this change. Numerous telephone calls had been made before in order to precisely capture the mood among the exhibitors. Due to the lack of planning certainty, it was to be expected that several companies would cancel their participation. Nicole Dalkolmo, Manager Exhibitions and Events, clarifies: "The visitors usually experience a complete offer, and the synergy effects between the three exhibition areas make up the special flair of the event. A lively community, like the three trade fairs in the EXPO 4.0 trade fair alliance, would suffer greatly if many market leaders and specialized companies did not participate."
