New digital trade show inquiry system

PSI introduces a new online system which instantaneously connects suppliers, distributors and industry customers.

Generating business

“As in other sectors, digitalisation is bringing lots of new challenges and opportunities to the promotional products industry”, summarises PSI Director Michael Freter. “In response to multiple requests by PSI members, we’re implementing a new digital tool at the upcoming trade show to instantaneously connect suppliers, distributors and industry customers.” The new system is an expansion of  PSI’s “closed-shop” concept and automatically detects whether a visitor is a distributor or an industry customer at the trade show in Düsseldorf, from the 10th to 12th of January, 2017. The tickets for industry customers are also specially marked and colour highlighted. The exhibitor will only be provided with the name of the industry customer and his company, as well as the full contact details of the inviting distributor. Orders will continue to be processed exclusively through the inviting distributor. All in all,  exhibitors are provided with a sophisticated tool aimed at one thing above all: generating business.

“Digital trade show bag”

The provider of this service is the Austrian company dMAS GmbH, a PSI member itself. It is now the new partner for PSI Lead Tracking. According to PSI Director Michael Freter,  dMAS creates significant added value in the daily work of its members by making communication between the three PSI target groups less complicated and more direct, simplifying the receipt of requests, and saving time processing orders.

dMAS CBO Othmar Fetz says, “Our system has been designed specifically for the promotional products market. Now we look forward to joining forces with PSI, the largest and most important industry platform.” The online software, briefly described as a “digital trade show bag”, has been used in recent years at several important regional trade shows and in-house trade shows and is, therefore, already known to numerous PSI exhibitors. The PSI network will be using the tools dMAS Notes and the “digital trade show bag” for the upcoming PSI 2017. When booking a stand, each exhibitor will receive as many licences/access codes for the visitor data capture app as he wants.

Automatic visitor recognition

The PSI Online Service Center (OSC) will be used to provide all PSI exhibitors with an unlimited number of licences and/or logins for the visitor data capture software dMAS Notes when they book their stands starting in autumn. This program is available as a web-based program on laptops/PCs or as an app for Apple iOS or Android devices.

The key benefit of the scanning app dMAS Notes is its ability to capture visitor data: the new digital tracking tool enables simple contact information collection and straightforward data exports to exhibitors’ CRM (Customer Relationship Management) programs. In addition, as soon as a PSI trade show badge is scanned, the automatic visitor recognition feature immediately indicates whether stand visitors are industry customers and, if so, which distributor invited them, without having to hand over industry customers’ complete contact information to exhibitors.

Adding multimedia content

During the scanning process at the various exhibition stands at the show, exhibitors add multimedia content including, for example, image videos, links to online offers and sweepstakes, digital brochures, price lists, product catalogues, and vCards. Besides visitor data capture, exhibitors can add their products to the dMAS Notes system, along with information such as pricing, finishing options, product variants, quantities, sample requests, and personal notes. This feature makes it possible to instantly process RFPs and send matching proposals to distributors right from the tool in order to serve industry customers and to write orders at the fastest possible speed. Visitors will enjoy the comfort of no longer having to lug around heavy documents.
