Stitch & Print International issue 4-2021

In this edition

This issue is already the last regular issue of this strange year. Due to Covid-19, 2021 started off with limitations and restrictions and many shows and events had to again be postponed or cancelled. Fortunately, in autumn, planning shows and events, even international ones, was possible again. or garment decorators, this is a very welcome development, as events translate into a growing demand for decorated products and promotion.

Last October, FESPA Global Print Expo took place in Amsterdam. It was so good to see so many international visitors from so many countries back at a trade show. Visitors and exhibitors were really happy to be able to meet face to face again and see and demonstrate the latest developments live! In November, the annual event of the Choice Group companies (of the JCK holding) could also take place again. Here as well, everybody was very pleased to be able meet again live! You will find the event reports in this issue.

The new year was planned to kick off with two important trade shows in the industry in January: PSI show and Heimtextil show. Against the background of the worsening pandemic situation in Germany over the past two weeks and the associated restrictions, PSI is postponed to April and Heimtextil has been canceled for January. Messe Frankfurt is working with the industry to determine whether and in what form a new offering in the summer of 2022 can be organised to run parallel to the Techtextil/Texprocess trade fair duo.

At PSI 2022, you will find the trade show sections of PromoTex and viscom integrated, so finishing and printing techniques as well as textiles and merchandising will from now on form an integral part of the PSI show. At Heimtextil you will find out more about fashion trends. Here, you will also discover how the pandemic has changed our lives and, consequently, the way we furnish our homes. In this issue you will find the show previews as well as an interview on PSI 2022 with Petra Lassahn, Director PSI.

As sportswear is still extremely popular in the textile and apparel industry, this issue also contains an overview of sportswear on the market. Additionally, Sean Savitch will offer you tips on heat pressing for the team sports market.
