Issue 3 - 2020

Following last spring’s lockdown because of Covid-19, numbers of coronavirus cases show a decline in many European countries. People are picking up their social lives and small events and travelling to other countries have once more become possible.

Covid-19 has prompted changes in the garment decoration industry. Garment manufacturers are now offering face masks and printing companies are producing items like medical parts, stickers for social rules and prevention screens. Embroidery machines are making non-medical face masks, which can be decorated by print or embroidery to make them more fashionable or to place company logos on them. In this issue, Sonja Angerer writes about the contribution that printing companies make in the battle against Covid-19. 3D printing in particular has turned out to be useful for the production of medical parts. Also in this issue, Maria José Leaño informs you about the variety of face masks on the market today and explains how different masks serve different purposes.

If you own a printing or embroidery machine and your business has slowed down because of a decline in events, be creative. Your machines can be used for other purposes and produce items that are in demand! The Covid-19 company news article explores some companies’ initiatives in the battle against Covid-19. The file on our website provides a complete overview of these initiatives.

Despite Covid-19, some companies have fortunately launched new products for garment decoration. In the new, free-of-charge online magazine ‘DTG & digital printing’, which can be found on our website, information can be found on digital printing and some new DTG printing machines that were launched recently. The next free-of-charge online magazine, which will be dedicated to embroidery, will be published on our website in October.
